What should I pack for peru?
General Information: When packing please remember less is more! You must be able to carry all of your own gear, and if overweight, you will be responsible for paying the additional costs yourself. 44lb weight limit on our internal flight in Peru.
Weather: We will monitor the weather closely before we leave but keep in mind that we will be spending significant time outdoors. The average high is 70 and the average low is 40 this time of year. Cool temperatures are expected with the high elevation. Layering will come in handy.
Travel Bags:
* One carry-on bag (Backpack): This will serve as not only your carry-on bag for airplane travel, but also your day pack as we explore throughout the day.
*One checked bag (duffel or rolling): This will hold the majority of your belongings. Please remember to keep it under 44lbs (including the items you buy in Peru and want to transport back).
Gear:
*Moneybelt or pouch: Pack a discreet money belt or pouch that will fit your money and passport.
*Water bottle: We will fill our water bottles each day with safe bottled drinking water.
*Waterproof watch: This will be helpful to serve as both your alarm clock and personal watch to wear each day to ensure you are on time. Remember you most likely won’t be carrying your phone with you at all times, and will need another way to tell time.
*Small locks: A way to lock your bags while you are not with them. Please use only TSA approved locks.
